documentation, which includes designs, proposals, network reports,
call-for-tenders and procedures.

Global Access Network Design team in a world-wide migration project which
involved installing new hardware (Juniper M20 and Cisco 7200s) in the core and distribution
layers of the network.

section of the overall global architecture design document
Network Operations Supervisor
KPNQwest,
· Managed a 24x7 Operations group
consisting of engineers. Involved in running the backbone
network of a major ISP. This network was powered by both Cisco and
Juniper equipment and apart from typical ISP network technologies such as IP,
BGP,DNS and IS-IS , services such as VoIP and IP VPN
(using IP Seculink) were also supported.
· Another major part of the role included
evaluating, implementing and training for new products. This would involve
setting up the platform using protocols such as SNMP so that it could monitored
24x7 monitoring of HP Openview
· Achievements
· April 2001.Designed and implemented
an autonomous and secure LAN environment for the Operations team, within the
corporate set-up
· May 2001. Wrote and implemented the
NOC Engineers handbook, which covered all the internal and external functions
of the department.
IP Project Engineer
KPNQwest,
· Technical Responsibilities: To
implement and design networking solutions for the corporate VPN network. This
involved building and administering new office networks as well as facilitating
new services on a secure pan-European network. Most of the work was completed
on multi-layer switches (Cisco catalysts), routers and Nokia/Checkpoint
Firewalls.

Responsibilities: I was charged with documenting design proposals, liaising
with other groups (systems, marketing and branch offices), and project
management.
· Achievements
· Aug’2000. Completed the LAN infrastructure
for the DSL Operations centre in Germany, allowing the centre to poll remote
sites over a secure ATM network
· Dec’2000. Implemented IP Multicast
on the corporate network, using tunnelling and PIM-sparse mode to span office
firewalls

a VoIP VLAN for a virtual call centre in

· Onsite Shift Manager at a 24x7 Operations
Centre responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the European (EMEA)
section of one of the world's largest ISP's backbone Network. The network was
vast with carrier bandwidths ranging from channelised E1 up to STM-16/OC48
for transatlantic connectivity. Consequently a wide range of equipment was
monitored and this would include routers (Cisco 75xx, Cabletron, and Juniper
M40s) as well as switches (Fore ASXs' ) and multiplexers (mainly Larscom).
Protocols most commonly used were IP and IS-IS, BGPv4. MPLS, ATM and Frame
Relay were also used.

· Sep’1999. . Helped design beginner
training courses for BGP and Remedy ARS.
